THERMAL COMFORT GUIDELINES & ACTION PLAN

Development of thermal comfort action plan 2050 and thermal comfort standards cum guidelines to enhance thermal comfort in affordable housing in India. The action plan aims to reduce the discomfort hours by 50% in affordable housing compared to typical design conditions and provide a roadmap to reach this objective. The standards and guidelines will act as a one stop guide for design and construction specifications to enhance thermal comfort in affordable housing projects with recommendations on various passive design and construction measures.


DESIGN STANDARD CUM GUIDELINES



Design Guidelines for Enhancing Thermal Comfort in Residential Application will be developed based on Thermal Comfort Performance Standard. The main focus is to develop cost effective guidelines for designers, developers & contractors which will assist them in construction of thermally comfortable homes. The guidelines will also include curated case studies for showcasing design and construction practices.


ACTION PLAN



The action plan will facilitate policy and implementation support crucial to the thermally comfortable and affordable homes ecosystem. Under this component research on policies, financial mechanisms and implementation frameworks will be undertaken. Further analyses of policy scenarios and their impact will facilitate in drawing a detailed implementation plan.
