Pursuing the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister, the Light House Project of Chennai Tamil Nadu with 1144 houses in S+13 storeys with all basic and social infrastructure facilities have been completed in partnership with the State Government of Gujarat.

Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated Light House Project in Rajkot, Gujarat on 19 October 2022 in the event held at Race Course Ground, Rajkot in the presence of Hon’ble Governor and Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat.

Despite the COVID pandemic and adverse weather conditions, this Project has been successfully completed in all respect in 15 months. Each house has two rooms, hall, a kitchen, two toilets and bathroom conforming to the building norms. Each block has provision of three lifts. In this project, Monolithic Concrete Construction using Tunnel Formwork System technology was used. In ‘TunnelForm’ technology, concrete walls and slabs are cast in one go at site giving monolithic structure using high-precision, re-usable, room-sized, Steel forms or moulds called ‘TunnelForm’. This system intends to replace the conventional RCC Beam-Column structure which uses steel/plywood shuttering. ‘TunnelForm’ is the customized engineered steel formwork consisting of two half shells which are placed together and then concreting is done to form a room size module. Several such modules make a dwelling unit. Various benefits of using this technology include speedy construction, Quality & durability, Energy & Resource efficiency, Thermal comfort and dust free site environment. In addition, the project has special features like solar lighting, rain water harvesting, waste water recycling amongst others.

As envisioned by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, the Light House Projects shall serve as a guiding light in adoption of new technologies in construction sector towards ‘AatmaNirbhar Bharat’.
